Shop Pay Installments Rejects Capital One and Chase Cards — and Two Shopify Pages Disagree About Where Disputes Appear

Shop Pay Installments is free to activate, needs no app, and Shopify never publishes what it costs you — the rate is visible only inside your own admin. It also refuses Capital One and Chase credit cards, restricts monthly plans to debit cards only, excludes gift cards and subscriptions, and can't be turned off for individual products. Affirm can suspend your account for being password-protected, for having a non-English storefront, or for being primarily B2B. And Shopify's Getting paid page says disputes appear in your admin while its FAQ says they don't. If you fail the eligibility gates, the alternative is on-site messaging apps from Klarna, Afterpay, Sezzle, Zip, and PayPal — a category rated between 1.0 and 3.2 stars. Shopify Customer Segments Limitations: 27 Filters, a Hard Ceiling of 10 Clauses, and 26 Months of History

The claim that Shopify's native segments only cover purchase data is out of date. As of September 2, 2026, Shopify's help center documents 27 customer segment filters, including on-site browsing events, email engagement, an 11-value rfm_group, and a predicted spend tier. The one hard published ceiling is 10 clauses per segment query — an eleventh clause returns Invalid query: Too many clauses. Klaviyo's documented equivalent is 100 criteria per segment and 1,000 active segments per account, a tenfold difference. This article covers the other undocumented-elsewhere limits — 26 months of event retention starting March 2022 for email and May 2023 for storefront events, 500 IDs per IN list, non-real-time counts — corrects the widespread claim that Shopify caps you at 250 segments, and shows when Klaviyo, Omnisend, Twilio Segment by Littledata, Loyal, or ECPower actually earns its monthly fee.

We Checked 5 Shopify SEO Apps for the Word "Canonical." It Appears Zero Times.

The most repeated Shopify SEO advice online is that /collections/x/products/y creates duplicate content you need to fix. We tested it: Shopify's Dawn and Horizon demo stores both return HTTP 200 on collection-scoped product URLs and emit a canonical pointing to the bare /products/ URL, /collections/all/products/ 301-redirects outright, the word "within" appears zero times in either theme's source, eight live merchant collection pages linked to bare product URLs 100% of the time, and three sitemaps contained zero collection-scoped URLs. Then we read the listings for SearchPie, BOOSTER, Tiny SEO, SEO Manager, and Yoast SEO — the words canonical, noindex, robots, and duplicate content appear zero times across all five. This article explains what SEO apps genuinely change on Shopify, what only theme code can change, and what nobody can change.

Shopify Instagram Feed Apps: You're Paying for Meta's API Tier, Not the Gallery

Every Shopify Instagram feed app puts the same two things behind its paid tiers: hashtag and mention feeds, and how often the feed refreshes. That is not a pricing choice — it maps onto Meta's own API structure. Hashtag Search is unavailable in the Instagram Login setup and requires the Facebook Login configuration, a linked Facebook Page, and App Review. We priced three real apps from the US App Store on September 2, 2026: refresh interval alone ranges from every 24 hours on a free plan to every 20 minutes at $98.99/month. And because Meta's long-lived tokens last 60 days, a feed that stops updating usually fails silently rather than showing an error.

Shopify Sends US Text Messages Itself Now — $0.012 per SMS, $2.15 a Month, and a Toll-Free Number That Cannot Receive Replies

Shopify Messaging sends SMS marketing campaigns directly, and Shopify publishes the US rate: $0.012 per message, plus $2.15 a month for the toll-free number. Postscript's cheapest tier is $0.009 per SMS plus roughly $0.00418 in carrier fees and a $49 monthly minimum, which makes Shopify cheaper per message than the cheapest plan of the most-reviewed SMS-only app in this comparison. The catches are real and specific: your toll-free number is randomly assigned and cannot receive customer replies, fourteen content categories are banned outright including alcohol, CBD, vape and firearms, only twelve recipient countries are supported, and US coverage excludes Puerto Rico. Full cost math at 10,000 and 50,000 messages a month against Postscript, Omnisend, and Attentive. Researched September 2, 2026.
