Change general settings

General settings covers where email notifications go, and what appears on your storefront article pages.

Open the screen

Open Smart Agent Blog's Settings, then select Manage under General Settings. The page has four sections, top to bottom:

SectionWhat it controls
NotificationsThe address that receives the SEO report email
Estimated Reading TimeWhether article pages show how long the article takes to read
Google Search Console IntegrationBringing search data into the SEO report email
Social Share LinksLinks to your store's social accounts, shown on article pages

Notifications

Enter the address that should receive the SEO report email in Notification email address. Use a shared mailbox or the address of the person responsible.

Leave it blank and no SEO report email is sent.

How often the report arrives, and how many you receive in total, depends on your plan. See Plans and usage limits.

Estimated reading time

Select Show estimated reading time on storefront to display an estimate of how long the article takes to read.

  • The estimate is calculated automatically from the amount of text in the article body.
  • It is calculated when an article is saved or updated. Turning the setting on does not add an estimate to articles you have not saved since. Open and save those articles again if you want the estimate to appear.
  • Where the estimate appears on the page depends on your theme settings.

Connect Google Search Console

Connecting Google Search Console lets Smart Agent Blog include impressions, clicks, CTR, and average position from Google Search in the SEO report email.

AI Rewrite's CTR Improvement strategy also uses this search data to pick which articles to rewrite.

It does not appear in article analytics

Google Search Console data is used by the SEO report email and by AI Rewrite. It is not shown on the article analytics screen. For what analytics does show, see Review article analytics.

Before you connect

  • You have a Google account that can use Google Search Console
  • That account can access the property for this store
  • You know which domain the store uses

Connect

  1. In the Google Search Console Integration card, select Connect Google Search Console.
  2. A new tab opens. Authorization cannot run inside the embedded screen, so it happens in a tab.
  3. Choose the Google account, review the requested permissions, and allow access.
  4. If more than one property is found, choose the right one under Select a property to connect and select Connect this property.
  5. Return to Smart Agent Blog and confirm that the status reads Connected and the correct property is shown.
Choosing the Google account

Choose the account that can see this store's Search Console property, not a personal account.

Reading the status

BadgeMeaning
Not ConnectedNo connection yet
Property not selectedGoogle is connected, but no property has been chosen
ConnectedConnected, with a property chosen

The Domain or URL badge next to the property name is the property type as registered in Google Search Console.

When more than one property is available, Change property lets you switch to a different one.

If the metrics collection schedule is missing

A warning says the metrics collection schedule is not configured. The connection itself succeeded, but scheduled data collection did not. Select Disconnect, then connect again.

Disconnect

Select Disconnect and confirm. After disconnecting, no new Google Search Console data is collected.

Connecting and disconnecting take effect immediately. There is nothing to save afterwards.

Enter the URLs of your store's own accounts on X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Article pages then show links to those accounts.

  • Leave a service blank if you do not use it. Blank services are not shown.
  • Where the links appear on the article page depends on your theme settings.
  • Open the profile in a browser and copy the URL to avoid typing mistakes.

Save

Changing the notification email, estimated reading time, or social share links reveals Save at the top of the page. It appears in two places — the save bar at the very top and next to the page title — and either one works. Nothing appears at the bottom of the page.

The button beside it discards your changes and restores the previous values. It is currently labelled リセット even in the English interface, so look for that word rather than "Reset".

There is no autosave. Moving to another screen without saving loses the changes.

If a change does not take effect

  • Confirm that you selected Save
  • Check that each URL starts with https://
  • Open and save any article whose reading time is missing
  • Check that the correct Google Search Console property is selected
  • Reload the screen
