Plans and usage limits
The Shopify plan-selection screen is the source of truth for current prices, billing currency, and billing terms.
Check your current plan
Open Settings, then select Manage under Manage pricing plans. Three cards appear — Free, Basic, and Pro — and your current plan is marked Current plan. Change plan in Shopify opens Shopify, where the price and billing terms are confirmed.
Treat the information on that screen, rather than a value copied from this guide, as current.
Main feature limits
| Feature or limit | Free | Basic | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Articles created in the app | Up to 10 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| AI article generation | 2 total | 1 per month | 15 per month |
| AI generation schedules | 1 | 1 | 5 |
| AI Rewrite | Not available | 1 per month | 30 per month |
| Articles per rewrite run | 0 | 1 | 5 |
| Rewrite schedules | 0 | 1 | 3 |
| SEO report email | Monthly, 3 in total | Monthly, no total limit | Weekly, no total limit |
| Article analytics | Not available | Not available | Available |
| Custom CSS (Design Edit) and custom blocks | Not available | Available | Available |
Limits may change as the service evolves. Confirm the app's plan screen before making a purchase decision. Shopify displays and confirms the charge when you approve a paid plan.
Changing plans can make some settings unavailable. Review AI schedules, rewrite settings, analytics, and custom features before downgrading.
Development stores are treated more permissively for article analytics and the AI usage limits. The 10-article limit on articles created in the app still applies. Do not treat what works on a development store as proof of what a live store can do.
A limit that applies on every plan
AI article generation is also capped at 3 articles per hour, separately from the plan limits. Generating several in quick succession shows a message asking you to wait. Try again after a while.
The Free plan article count
The Free plan limit counts articles that Smart Agent Blog created. Articles created directly in the Shopify admin are not counted on their own.
However, once you open such an article in Smart Agent Blog and save it, it is treated as a Smart Agent Blog article from that point on and starts counting toward the limit.
Once the limit is reached, no new article can be created. You can still edit and save your existing articles. Existing articles are never deleted or hidden automatically, and deleting an article frees up its slot.
The SEO report email
The SEO report email is sent to the Notification email address under Settings → General Settings. Leaving it blank stops the report entirely. See Change general settings.
- Free: once per month, up to 3 reports in total. After the third, no further reports arrive.
- Basic: once per month, with no total limit.
- Pro: once per week, with no total limit.
When it arrives
The send job runs every Monday at 22:00 UTC (Tuesday morning in Japan). On the Pro plan the report arrives on that schedule every week. Free and Basic are monthly, so the report only goes out if none has been sent yet that month.
Depending on how many articles you have, the email itself may arrive some time after the job runs.
What the email contains
The SEO report email is more than a set of numbers. It has three parts.
| Heading | Contents |
|---|---|
| Search performance | Clicks, impressions, average CTR, and average position for the period |
| Top 5 articles by clicks | The articles that earned the most clicks from search |
| Articles to improve first | AI-generated recommendations, ordered by priority (High, Medium, Low) |
Articles to improve first follows the same reasoning as the recommendations on the article analytics screen, so it is a useful starting point when you are unsure which article to work on next.
If Google Search Console is not connected, the search performance section is omitted.
A period with nothing to report is skipped, and a skipped period is not counted toward the total.
When you reach a limit
- Read the feature and limit named in the error message.
- Open Settings → Manage pricing plans.
- Review your current plan and what each plan includes.
- Select Change plan in Shopify if you want to change it.
This month's usage appears at the top of each feature's own settings screen: Settings → AI Scheduled Blog Proposals for generation, and Settings → AI Rewrite for rewrites.
After changing plans, return to the app and reload the screen.
Billing
Billing, plan changes, free trials, and cancellation all follow the terms shown on Shopify's plan screen. If anything is unclear, contact support with a screenshot and your store URL.
