Frequently asked questions
Where are articles saved in Shopify?
They are saved as Shopify blog posts. You can also find them under Content → Blog posts in Shopify admin.
Can I edit an existing Shopify blog article?
Yes. Find it in Articles and open the row. The article must be available to the app through Shopify.
Is my work saved automatically?
No. There is no autosave, in the article editor or on the settings screens. Nothing reaches Shopify until you select Save. Leaving the screen or closing the browser first loses the changes, so save often while writing a long article.
Can I schedule publication?
No. The current editor offers Visible or Hidden only — there is no field for a date and time. Use Shopify admin's blog-post feature for future scheduled publication.
Changing an article from Hidden to Visible records the moment you save as its published date. See Preview and publish an article.
Can I delete an article?
The current list has no bulk delete. Delete the carefully selected article under Content → Blog posts in Shopify admin. Deletion cannot be undone.
Does AI Scheduled Blog Suggestions publish articles automatically?
It depends on the publish mode. Save as draft (manual publish) keeps the article hidden, while Auto-publish at scheduled time makes it visible when the scheduled run completes.
Start with the draft mode so you can review the content before publishing. See Review an AI draft.
Is AI content automatically correct?
No. Check facts, product details, claims, images, and links before publication.
Which AI providers can I choose?
The settings offer OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude Code). Available choices can differ by feature or current configuration.
Why does my free-plan AI generation count never reset?
It is not supposed to. The free plan allows 2 AI generations in total, and used generations are never returned. The counter stays at 2 / 2 across month boundaries, and upgrading to a paid plan and then downgrading again does not restore them.
Paid plans use a monthly count, which does reset each month. See Plans and usage limits.
Which plans include AI Rewrite?
Not the free plan. Paid plans can run AI Rewrite on a schedule.
The Rewrite action in the article editor, which rewrites a single article on demand, appears on the Pro plan only. If you cannot see it, check your plan under Settings → Manage plans.
Why can't I open article analytics?
Article analytics is available only to:
- a Pro plan with active billing, or
- a Shopify development store.
Selecting the Pro plan is not enough on its own. If payment has not completed, the free trial has ended, or a cancellation is in progress, the screen reports that analytics is a Pro plan feature. See Analytics data is missing.
Analytics is also not a menu item — open it with View analytics on an article row, or from the article editor.
Do analytics numbers update immediately?
Not always. Refreshing article information and aggregating page views are separate processes.
Analytics always covers the finalized 30 days ending yesterday. Today is never included, and rewriting an article does not change the period, so you have to wait for new data before the effect shows.
Why are Google search numbers missing from analytics?
By design. Google Search Console data is never shown on the article analytics screen, which uses only figures measured on your storefront.
Connected search data is used in the SEO report email and in AI Rewrite — the CTR improvement strategy, and the current-metrics panel in the article editor.
Why is the author or estimated reading time missing on an older article?
Articles published before you started using Smart Agent Blog have no author-profile link and no estimated reading time recorded. Neither appears until the article is saved once from the app.
Open the article in Smart Agent Blog, select the author, and select Save. See Article cannot be saved or displayed.
Is an author required?
Yes. Select an author before saving an article. If none exists, register one under Setting → Authors.
Does registering an author improve search ranking?
No ranking is guaranteed. Accurate, useful, readable content and a technically accessible storefront remain important.
Why is the author not visible on the store?
In the theme editor, select the Smart Agent Blog article section and enable an author position. Also confirm that the article itself has an author selected.
What do the common error codes mean?
| Code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
ARTICLE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED | The free plan's 10-article total has been reached | Delete articles you no longer need, or change plan |
RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED | Too many AI generations in a short time (3 per hour) | Wait and try again — this one resolves itself |
GENERATION_LIMIT_EXCEEDED | The AI generation allowance is used up | Wait for next month, or upgrade |
REWRITE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED | This month's AI Rewrite allowance is used up | Wait for next month, or upgrade |
PLAN_NOT_SUPPORTED | The current plan does not include the feature | Change plan |
REWRITE_CONFLICT | The source article changed after the rewrite proposal was generated | Follow the prompt on the approval screen: overwrite, or review first |
Only RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED clears on its own. The others need a plan or article-count change. See Plans and usage limits.
Where can I see the current price?
Open Settings → Manage plans. The Shopify confirmation screen is the source of truth for the charge and billing terms.
Where do I send a bug report or feature request?
Use Feedback in the app. If your report contains store or customer details, contact support privately instead of posting it.
