AI is not working
AI runs depend on your settings, your plan limits, the scheduled time, and external AI services.
A scheduled proposal does not run
Open Settings → AI Scheduled Blog Proposals and confirm that:
- the feature is enabled
- a destination blog is selected
- an article author is selected
- at least one schedule exists and every schedule has a time
- the weekday, time, and time zone (JST or UTC) are correct
- the business description is filled in
- the settings were saved
The destination blog, the article author, and each schedule time are required. If any is empty, a message appears and the settings are not saved.
The scheduled runs are registered when you enable the feature and save, and re-registered when you change a schedule and save. If saving again does not help, disable the feature and save, then enable it and save again — that re-registers the schedule.
See Schedule AI article suggestions.
Nothing appears at the scheduled time
An article does not necessarily finish at the scheduled time.
- Check the AI Auto Blog history on the Smart Agent Blog home screen. Processing means the run is still going.
- If the publish mode is Save as draft (manual publish), the article is saved hidden. Check the Hidden tab in the article list.
- Do not start the same run repeatedly while one is still processing.
A limit is shown
What you do next depends on which limit you hit.
| Limit | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 3 articles per hour | An hourly cap on AI article generation. It applies on every plan | Waiting solves it. Try again after about an hour |
| 2 articles in total (Free) | The Free plan cap on AI article generation | Upgrade the plan |
| Monthly generation limit reached | Your plan's monthly cap on AI article generation | Wait for next month, or upgrade the plan |
| Monthly rewrite limit reached | Your plan's monthly cap on AI Rewrite | Wait for next month, or upgrade the plan |
| AI Rewrite is not available on your plan | AI Rewrite cannot be used on the Free plan | Upgrade the plan |
Current usage is shown at the top of each feature's settings screen. See Plans and usage limits.
The 3-per-hour cap clears by itself once an hour has passed. Upgrading the plan does not remove it.
Messages about generation and rewrite limits are currently returned in Japanese even when the app is in English. Match them to the table above, or send the screenshot to Support.
AI Rewrite is unavailable
- AI Rewrite cannot be used on the Free plan.
- The Rewrite action on the article editing screen appears only on the Pro plan. It is not shown on Basic.
- Check the monthly limit and the per-run limit. The per-run limit is 1 article on Basic and 5 on Pro.
- In Settings → AI Rewrite, confirm that a destination blog and at least one improvement strategy are set.
A pending approval is missing
- Check Pending Approvals in Settings → AI Rewrite. Only proposals awaiting review are listed there.
- Confirm the publish mode is Approval required (Recommended). With Automatically publish rewritten content, changes go straight into the article without an approval step.
- In Execution Logs on the same screen, check whether the run is Skipped or Failed.
- A proposal you already accepted or kept as-is no longer appears in the pending list.
See Use AI Rewrite.
The run is marked Skipped
Skipped means the run worked but selected no article to rewrite. The reason is shown in the same row.
| Reason | Meaning |
|---|---|
| No articles were found in the target blog | The destination blog has no articles. Check which blog is selected |
| No articles matched the rewrite criteria | No article met the conditions of your strategies — see below |
Common causes for the second reason:
- The CTR improvement strategy uses Google Search Console data. Without a connection, or with too few search impressions, no article qualifies. See Change general settings.
- The Engagement improvement and Conversion improvement strategies use measured page views. Articles below the page-view threshold you set are skipped.
- The Freshness update strategy ignores articles published more recently than the month threshold you set.
To rewrite one article immediately on the Pro plan, use Rewrite in the article editing screen. That path skips the selection criteria entirely.
The run is marked Failed
- Note the message shown in the execution log.
- Confirm the destination blog and the target article still exist.
- Save the settings again.
- Wait a moment, then retry once.
Starting the same run repeatedly can create duplicate work. When you are unsure of the outcome, check the article list and the execution log before retrying.
A rewrite cannot be applied
When you apply an approval, you may see one of these:
- The original article has newer changes — the article was edited after the proposal was generated. Overwrite and apply replaces only the changes you accepted; sections you did not accept keep their current content. Select Cancel to review manually first.
- A message that the article was not found — the original article has been deleted from Shopify, so the proposal can no longer be applied.
The result is not what you expected
Make the business description, topic and keywords, audience, product selection, and tone more specific. Never publish without reviewing. See Review an AI draft.
Still unresolved
Send the AI feature you used, the scheduled time, the time zone, the state shown in the execution history, and the error message to Support.
