Analytics data is not displayed
Article analytics, page views, and Google search data come from different sources and update at different times.
Analytics is unavailable
When the screen says article analytics is a Pro plan feature, it can be opened only by:
- a store on the Pro plan with an active charge, or
- a Shopify development store
Being on the Pro plan is not enough on its own. If the charge is not active — payment incomplete, trial ended, or a cancellation in progress — the upgrade message appears. Check the current state under Settings → Manage pricing plans.
Analytics cannot be opened, or the article cannot be found
Analytics is not in the app menu. Open it from the article list by selecting View analytics on the article's row, or from the top of a saved article's editing screen.
Searching, filtering, and sorting belong to the article list, not to analytics. If the article is missing there:
- Clear the title search box.
- Select the All tab.
- Remove any applied filters — Status, Tags, Blog, Author, AI-generated.
- Sort by Published At, newest first.
- Check the next page.
- Confirm the article exists in Shopify admin.
Preparing analysis data is shown
Article analytics uses finalized data for the 30 days ending yesterday. Today is never included.
A newly published article, or one that has not been read yet, therefore has nothing to analyze. Wait for measurements to accumulate and open it again.
Evaluation starts once measured views reach 50. You can see that count under Detailed metrics.
A diagnostic score stays on Collecting data
The four diagnostic scores are calculated by comparing the article with other articles that share the same purpose. Without enough to compare, the score shows Collecting data instead of a number.
| Score | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Reach | At least 5 other analyzed articles share this article's purpose |
| Reading, Action | The above, plus 50 or more measured views and 80% or more measurement coverage |
| Conversion | The above 5-article requirement, plus 20 or more views with a product-link click |
Goal achievement appears only once enough of these scores are available. Until then it also shows Collecting data.
In short, a store with few articles will not see scores for a while. They appear as you publish more articles and those articles get read.
PV remains zero
- Confirm the article is Visible.
- Confirm it actually opens on the storefront.
- Confirm the published theme's blog post template contains the Smart Agent Blog section. That section is what records page views — without it, nothing is measured. See Display articles on your store.
- Confirm the article was not published just now.
Page views are aggregated once a day. Views from today do not appear in the article list's PV column until the following day. Opening the article yourself a few times will not show up immediately either.
Live view shows zero
Live view on the Smart Agent Blog home screen estimates how many people are reading right now. Zero is correct when nobody is reading.
- It counts activity from the last 90 seconds.
- The number refreshes every 30 seconds.
After a reader closes the browser or loses connection, it can therefore take up to about two minutes for the count to drop to zero.
Google search data is not in analytics
Google Search Console data does not appear on the article analytics screen. Analytics only shows what is measured on your storefront.
The Search Console connection is used in two other places:
- The SEO report email — clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position, together with AI recommendations under Articles to improve first.
- The CTR improvement strategy in AI Rewrite — search data decides which articles are selected.
If the SEO report does not arrive, confirm that:
- Search Console shows as connected
- the correct property for this store is selected
- a notification email address is set under Settings → General Settings
- enough time has passed since connecting for data to arrive
- the article actually appears in Google search results
Metrics you will not find in analytics
Article analytics shows the article purpose, goal achievement, the four diagnostic scores (Reach, Reading, Action, Conversion), recommendations, and detailed metrics.
There are no items named:
- SEO score
- completion rate, bounce rate, or average view time
- clicks, impressions, CTR, or average position (Google Search Console figures)
For how articles are read, use Qualified read rate, Short exit rate, and Avg. active reading time under detailed metrics. See Review article analytics.
Numbers do not change after updating an article
Refreshing an article's title and author is a separate process from aggregating its measurements. Editing the content does not recalculate past numbers on the spot.
Select Refresh profile on the analytics screen to re-read the article and recalculate the 30 days ending yesterday. A message appears while it runs, and the results are replaced when it finishes.
Note that the period stays fixed at the 30 days ending yesterday. To judge the effect of a rewrite, wait for data from the following period.
Numbers differ from Google Analytics
Tools differ in what they count, what they exclude, where they cut off a day, and when they update. They will not match exactly.
When comparing, align the article, the period, the time zone, and the type of metric — page views versus users, for example.
Still unresolved
Send the article title and URL, the period you checked, the numbers shown, the numbers you expected, and the time you checked to Support.
